Fernkite License Agreement

Fernkite is a free beta. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.

1. Your games are yours

Everything you make with Fernkite is yours: your games, their code, their art, and the files Fernkite writes into them. That includes the small "dreams" add-on Fernkite puts in every game (addons/fernkite/), which you may keep, change and ship as part of your games. Starting games and assets from the library keep the licenses of their authors, listed in each game's LICENSE.md and CREDITS.md.

2. What you may do with Fernkite

You may install and use Fernkite on your own computers to make, play and share games.

3. What you may not do

Fernkite itself, its program code, the instructions it gives its AI agents, its tools, and its design, is owned by Fernkite and licensed to you, not sold. You may not:

4. Other software

Fernkite carries or downloads other software under its own license, which applies to that software instead of this agreement: among others the Godot engine (MIT), Git (GPL 2.0), Electron (MIT), Blender (GPL) and the AI command-line tools of Anthropic, OpenAI and Cursor. Their terms apply when you use them.

5. Your AI account

Fernkite runs on the Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor account you sign in with. Your use of that account is between you and that provider, under their terms. Fernkite never sees or stores your login.

6. Your data

What leaves your computer, and why, is described on the Fernkite website's privacy page. In short: your messages go to the AI you sign in with, and your voice, games you share, usage counts, error reports, feedback and session data (which you can turn off) go to Fernkite and the services it uses.

7. Beta, no warranty

Fernkite is a beta and is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Keep copies of anything you care about. To the extent the law allows, Fernkite is not liable for any damages arising from its use, including lost work or data.

8. Changes and ending

This agreement may change with a new version of Fernkite; the version you install says which terms apply. It ends if you break it, and then you must stop using Fernkite and delete it. Sections 1, 3, 7 and 8 continue after it ends.
